About Me:

What can I say about me… My name is Laura, I am 18, an age where we are told we are adults but still are not allowed to do anything but work extra hours and die for our country (at least in America). I am female, and proud of it, not that there is anything wrong with males, but I am glad I am female and can‘t picture myself any other way. I plan to go to art college next year, a bright light in my future, and after that who knows. I would love to travel and see the world, I really want to go to Italy and Russia, for reason I don't fully comprehend. I am fascinated by dreams and their potential meanings. I am a fan of Jung psychology, more so than Freudian psychology, not to discredit his works, but I find I agree more with Jung's theories. I also love dreams because of the fact that they are an open book with infinite pages, there are no right answers, but thousands of questions. I am a wondering Christian. I was raised in my faith, fallen out, and back in and am continuing to grow. I like to hear different views on religion, it is an interesting topic that can bring out a great deal of passion in people. I recommend Life of Pi by Yann Martel, for anyone with a searching soul. I like expressive art, but before I can go there I am working on my realistic drawings. I enjoy being able to see my work and style of art change over time as I gain experience. I like some video games and animation, and some day would like to be an illustrator or animator. For some reason I have a fascination with depression. I collect zines and stories that center around living with and recovering from depression. I was once depressed, maybe clinically, though I never had a doctors note, and I know that this period and the years following changed me as a person. I was in middle school then, but I don't think my age changes they severity of the experience. Anyone interested in exchanging zines (miniature hand made magazines) or ATC's (artist trading cards) I would love to see your work in exchange for my own, contact me if you are interested. I love getting mail, there is something about getting something out of your mailbox knowing someone made it specifically for you that email can't replace.
